Market Development Manager

Private Student Loans


As a member of the Market Development team, you will design and deliver private loan sales solutions (both structured classroom-style training and customized strategy sessions) to all First Marblehead/TERI Guaranteed partners. You will also be instrumental in representing our clients and industry on internal project teams responsible for School Channel product and process enhancements.

Market Development Manager will deliver School Channel Sales training programs and strategic sales solutions to support our clients' growth objectives.

-Provide national and regional lender/marketer sales trainings and sales strategy sessions for clients

-Represent First Marblehead at major industry conferences

-Identify new training methods and increase effectiveness of the comprehensive training approach

-Coordinate the creation of standardized new employee training with the Market Development Team

-Create training presentations for state, regional, and national conferences on a wide variety of industry topics

-Represent client and market interests on internal project teams

-Minimum 3-5 years of comprehensive financial aid, sales, and training experience

-Candidate must possess superior communication, organization, administrative, and public speaking skills

-Strong ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently when required

-Capable of working with management to establish and meet training goals and objectives

-Proficiency in all components of Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on PowerPoint) and contact management systems

-Willing and able to quickly learn company propriety software applications in order to make an immediate positive impact

-Roughly 60% travel throughout the United States
