Marketing Manager/Director ? Direct Mail Specialist

 

 This ?Marketing Manager/Director ? Direct Mail Specialist? will work within a small team to help run a smart, aggressive and successful marketing effort for major financial companies in the student loan and home mortgage industries.  The job will require alternating between an idea/planning role and an execution/reporting role; candidates will need to be ?ideas people? who also have great attention to detail and thoroughness.  This role will be responsible for running a very significant direct mail effort ? both strategy and execution.

 

The primary focus of our marketing team is to acquire customers with a concentration on Return on Investment (ROI).  College Loan Corporation and CLC Home Loans will never sacrifice the integrity of the brand to achieve financial goals.

 

Job Functions:

 

Manage the Company?s Significant Direct Mail Effort:

? Work with the VP to identify list targets and make list buying decisions

? Work with the Data Team to model (& prioritize) data

? Plan direct mail campaigns forward at least 1 quarter (subject to change according to tests and environment shifts, of course)

? Execute weekly direct mail campaigns (send orders, proof, sign off, etc.)

? Test creative, test lists, test timing, etc. (test everything)

? Develop innovative and cost-efficient creative for mailings

? Develop copy for all direct mail (with help from the team and in conjunction with other marketing mediums/campaigns)

? Direct internal and external graphic designers for layout and image development.

? Analyze and report results for each marketing campaign and data source

? Apply key learnings to future campaigns/strategy

? Recommend appropriate analyses to create deeper customer insights.

? Manage effective vendor relationships

? Obtain appropriate approvals from the legal and compliance departments

Job Requirements:

 

4 year college degree

5+ years experience in direct marketing

3+ years specifically in direct mail

B-2-C experience required (this is NOT a B-2-B role)

Demonstrated successful track record for direct mail results

Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.

Reporting & numbers high comfort & skill level (data collection, organization and analysis)

Microsoft Word & MS Excel high skill level

Strong writing skills ? direct response/direct mail specific

Direct mail specific writing training/courses/seminars a plus

Financial industry experience a plus (mortgage and/or student loans)

A passion for hard work, teamwork & success is mandatory
