Marketing Manager, Lending

POSITION SUMMARY :   This is a cross-over role between quantitative strategy and marketing.  The ideal candidate will have strong project management and interpersonal skills coupled with quantitative ability as well as have strategic analysis skills and good business sense. Initially the position will focus on supporting the mortgage and home equity acquisition process, assisting is developing and implementing quarterly marketing programs and analyzing the effectiveness of current and future marketing campaigns.  The candidate will then quickly assume additional marketing management responsibilities.

 

 



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

Marketing management: (45%) Will assume day to day marketing campaign responsibilities for select new programs.  Will work across the organization to ensure that all aspects of new campaigns are covered ? operations, training, marketing services, product management, legal, and compliance.  The goal being that this person assumes responsibility for one of the customer marketing segments longer term.  Projects will include, but not be limited to, collateral development for E*TRADE Financial centers, Direct mail and email campaigns, online and affiliate marketing campaigns, etc. 

 

Acquisition marketing strategy development and support: (20%)  Candidate will analyze customer segments, market trends and competitive landscape to drive recommendations on product and marketing strategies.  Perform competitive intelligence and build product economics and forecasting models to identify products with competitive advantage.  Will identify and size marketing initiatives and opportunities and build business cases for implementation and rollout.  Will work with marketing leadership team to build out annual strategic plan and budget. 



 

Marketing effectiveness analysis(20%):  Will analyze campaign effectiveness and test & learn results.  Will recommend marketing tactics based on learnings and will propose new, high leverage tests. 

 



OTHER POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

 

Assist in driving senior management communications and ad hoc analysis (15%)



MINIMUM/REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Required skills:

- Strong project management skills ? the ability to manage multiple projects at one time

- Detail oriented with good organizational skills

- Solid understanding of business and financial fundamentals

- Comfortable performing detailed, quantitative financial and marketing analyses.  Able to build detailed cash flow models.

-Must think strategically. 

-Extremely proficient in Excel

-Background using databases to analyze data.  Ability to work with complex data structures.

-Good communications skills.  Comfortable making presentations to senior management.

-Must be proactive and capable of self-directed work, but also be a good team player.  Needs to be able to build relationships with other groups and get organizational alignment for initiatives.

-Proficient in power point

 

Minimum GPA 3.5

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 



Bachelors degree in quantitative field required (e.g., hard sciences, quantitative economics/finance, mathematics), with course work in economics and finance.

 



Business strategy consulting experience (pure strategy).  Should have experience building profitability models by customer, product and channel in one or more consumer goods industries.  Will ideally have experience in competitive intelligence, competitive financial modeling and forecasting.

 

Minimum 2 years experience, 3 preferred.
