Merchant Receivables Collector

Job Duties:  Collect all outstanding balances due on merchant accounts in accordance with state and federal collection laws. Monitor all assigned receivable accounts and enforce appropriate plans while maintaining detailed and organized files on customers. Ensure that deadlines are met for contacts, suspending credit, write-offs, and third-party collections are done on a daily basis. Employee must be able to effectively search for and find skipped businesses, including hidden linked accounts under different names but at the same location or vice versa. -While placing outbound calls and taking inbound calls, employee must maintain compliance with Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and adhere to state and federal collection procedures regulations. Ensure payments and credits are properly posted and applied in accordance with TeleCheck's policy for past due balances by entering and reconciling merchant account information. Employee must be able to identify suspicious activity on accounts and make quick decisions on their services. Employee must be able to solve merchant disputes using a variety of resources. These resources include (but are not limited to), the customer, account executives, corporate liaisons, finance, etc., customer service department, the billing department, internal team members and/or any other resource that should possess information needed to aid in the resolution of the account. Employee must be able to make decisions (and process the action) on accounts in regards to account cancellations and write-offs. 

Candidate Requirements:  2+ years in a diversified, high volume, commercial A/R environment required accounting process knowledge required - must demonstrate the ability to understand and reconcile account activities.
