Operations Financial Analyst

Job Description: Position Summary: Operations Financial Support is accountable for expense and vendor management and technology support for both the Personal and Commercial Lines of business. The Financial Analyst will work with operations leadership to evaluate, develop & implement best practices for Operations Financial Support.

Key Job Duties:

Builds and maintains financial and operational models to forecast, monitor, and report on operational performance. Activities include staffing models, performance metrics, and monthly dashboards.

Supports monthly close process in combination with Operations Financial Support Team. Activities could include PeopleSoft Reports, Reports to Cost Center Managers, ABC Volumes, and other activities required for the monthly close process.

Works with Operations Leadership to ensure efficient workflow & analytics.

Makes recommendations to Operations Leadership regarding cost saving or profit generating opportunities and profitability improvement strategies.

Identifies trends and recommends improvements accordingly.

Supports ad-hoc projects and analysis required by Operations Leadership.

Critical Competencies:

Strong analytical, problem-solving and research skills;

General knowledge of accounting and finance concepts;

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) and MS Access;

Proficiency with other database & analytical tools (SQL, Business Objects) desirable;

Experience with data modeling;

Demonstrated ability to think strategically;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Excellent organizational skills, initiative and ability to multi-task;

Ability to effectively collaborate with a wide variety of individuals and groups

Strong presentation skills

Experience/Background:

Minimum of 3-5 years related experience in Finance, Accounting and/ or the Insurance Industry;

Bachelors degree in Economics, Accounting, Finance or Business is preferred;
