Operations Project Manager

Overview The Trading Operations Business Development team supports various business units including Trading, Clearance, Settlement, Margins, Risk Prevention, and Custody Services to effectively implement back-office and corporate-wide initiatives.  By following a consistent project management methodology in support of industry best-practices, the Business Development team successfully manages multiple projects to create and/or enhance functionality, meet regulatory requirements, and complete cost-cutting initiatives.


 


Description


In this role, you will be expected to:

Manage 3 - 5 mid-sized projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment

Work collaboratively with business and technical partners to meet project objectives

Be responsible for effectively managing all project deliverables throughout the various project phases

Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets and manage each accordingly

Identify and document roles, responsibilities, and deliverables of the project team

Execute projects on-time and on-budget with allocated resources

Effectively communicate information between the business and technical teams


 


Requirements


Strong project management experience (4+ years) with the proven ability to drive projects to successful completion on-time and on-budget

Sound knowledge of Operations, preferably within Margins, Custody Services, Disbursements, Dividends/Reorganizations, Settlements, P & S, Trading, and/or Risk Prevention

Knowledge of Schwab's systems and technology is a plus or experience with mainframe and client/server environments with a keen ability to learn new systems

Excellent understanding of the project life cycle including  initiation, project planning, budget management, requirements development, user acceptance testing, and ability to deliver associated work on a timely basis

Minimum of 3+ years managing multiple complex, cross-functional projects with emphasis on software development and business process redesign

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment; demonstrated ability to take a leadership role in the creation and management of project teams with the ability to develop a collaborative, team-oriented environment

Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with all levels of management

Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, negotiation, interpersonal, influencing, and conflict resolution skills

Strong time (prioritization) management and resource management skills

Series 7 and 63 recommended; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
