Operations Risk Manager

Position Description: The Operations Risk Manager will be responsible for the establishment of risk and control best practices and an operational risk management business model which incorporates proactive identification, assessment, monitoring, measurement, mitigation and control of operational risks.  The Risk Manager will assist Partners, Executive Management and the firm in understanding and responding to risks in a timely manner.  As a risk management subject matter expert, the Risk Manager will provide analysis and support the Operations Divisions in understanding the risk profile.

Responsibilities:
- Active participation in the Risk Management governance process within Operations
-Assist Operations Divisions in understanding the Risk Profile
-In depth analysis of internal controls within each Operations Division
-Evaluate the effectiveness of established policies and practices, including operational processes with the objective of minimizing operational and reputational risk across Operations.
-Assess Division specific workflows/processes and identify weaknesses in established control systems and work with all levels of management to develop and implement solutions across operations
-Develop risk mitigation plans designed to reduce the likelihood of occurrence for identified risks
-Provide advice and actionable risk information/recommendations to business units to assist in maintaining a strong risk and control structure
-Perform targeted reviews of Operational processes/workflows and assist Divisions in implementing suggested changes/improvements
-Corrective Action plan tracking and follow-up (audit findings, risk and control self assessment gaps, E&O corrective actions)
-Provide support to Operations Divisions with respect to E&O Analysis, control recommendations, process improvements and participate in integration and implementation of proposed solutions
-Assist in implementation/enforcement of risk management policies
 
- Participate in ad-hoc Risk Management projects, on an as needed basis, to assist Operations in identifying and understanding risk exposures
-Obtain a working knowledge of the Risk Management policies, systems and tools
- Leverage existing risk management tools, such as the errors and omissions database and risk and control  self assessment database to assist in causal analysis efforts
-Other Risk Management Activities/Responsibilities:
-Participate in Risk Management Presentations to oversight committees (IOC/ISOC) on a regular basis
-Attend and/or participate in industry conferences
-Coordination of Operations year-end E&O accrual process
-Coordination of regulatory requests on an as needed basis
-Coordination with other BBH Risk Managers/functions as necessary
Qualifications:
-7 - 10+ years experience in risk management, operations, or internal audit in financial services
-Strong knowledge of risk management concepts, drivers, frameworks and methodologies
-Working knowledge of back office operations
-Excellent relationship management, communication and influencing skills
-BS required, advanced degree preferred
-Ability to travel
