Overview


 


Operations Specialists on the Managed Account Operations Team perform a variety of functions and services for our internal customers using Schwab’s Managed Account products.  An integral part of this role includes processing new account opening, account updating, and customer correspondence for one of the most complex operational processes.  Quality, accuracy and accountability are a must. 


 


The Team is responsible for supporting and reconciling the Checkfree/APL database used for the Schwab Managed Account Sponsored platforms.  The Team creates and codes new accounts, performs the monthly billing operation for this separately managed account product and maintains the cost basis tables for quarterly performance reporting.  The Operations Specialist is also responsible for servicing the outside Money Managers participating in the Managed Account offerings.


 


Description


 


In this role you will be asked to switch gears throughout the day to meet critical cut-off times and high volume processing spikes.  Flexibility, attention to detail and an understanding of risk is a critical success factor to your success. 


 


The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable with direct client interaction as they receive and make inbound/outbound client service calls and network internally to research and resolve client operational issues.  To be effective you must have the ability to build and sustain strong relationships with clients and other Schwab business partners.


 


 


Qualifications


 


Minimum three years operation experience in a brokerage, banking or other financial services institution. 

Minimum three years customer service experience. 

Cross-functional operational knowledge or experience in account opening, processing, or managed accounts is highly desired. 

Experience with Checkfree/APL is preferred. 

Effective problem resolution and relationship management skills a must.

A strong sense of teamwork. 

NASD Series 7 & 63 desired, NASD Series 8 a plus.
