Commerce Energy, one of the nation?s largest non utility affiliated marketer of natural gas and electricity, is expanding its presence in several markets.

 

This creates an opportunity for an experienced, enthusiastic, persistent, goal oriented Payroll Administrator.

 

Position Summary:  The Payroll Administrator is responsible for preparing and processing biweekly payroll for all employees through Paychex. The Payroll Administrator will prepare reports and handle processing and record keeping of garnishments.

 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Weekly run and issue via email Time and Attendance timesheets to department managers for approval and employee signatures.

Get all necessary approvals before processing payroll.

Verify biweekly payroll received from Paychex.

Coordinate all payroll changes with Human Resources.

Maintain a good working relationship with HR

Maintain and update payroll records in the Paychex payroll system.

Prepare documentation for all outside auditors.

Prepare and input into Mas500 the monthly payroll journal entries for the General Ledger.

Reconcile all Balance sheet accounts in the General Ledger relating to payroll.

Analysis General Ledger payroll expense accounts for accuracy and consistency.

Prepare and input monthly payroll accruals as well as vacation and 401K entries.

Other duties as necessary.



Experience:

Incumbent must have a minimum of two years of payroll experience.

Must have accounting experience

 

Skills Needed:

Familiarity with ADP or Paychex.

Good communication skills and can work independently.

High degree of accuracy and very conscientious.

Flexible and works well with different types of people.

Works well under pressure.
