Principal Software Engineer - Java/J2EE
An excellent opportunity for a Principal Software Engineer Developer to work with a critical business unit at this top tier company. Design and develop multiple remote web applications. This is a group responsible for mission-critical middleware applications which consist of the J2EE Web Services, batch processing of internal work items and external transmission support.
The selected candidate will:
? Provide leadership in the delivery of the company's service oriented architecture and strategy, implementing critical business functionality within a IBM Websphere environment.
? Drive major systems initiatives in all aspects of project delivery, including reviewing functional specifications, technical architectures and external interfaces.
? Promote and champion our transition to new Agile development methodologies and principles. As such, you must possess excellent inter-personal skills and be comfortable following the best practices of Agile development and Extreme Programming.
Qualifications
? 6+ years of software development experience, including implementation of enterprise solutions in a J2EE environment.
? Extensive technology knowledge and recognized expertise in several areas. Our current environment includes Java, J2EE, Websphere, IBM Portal Server, Oracle, DB2, Linux.
? Possess outstanding OOAD skills with demonstrated ability to influence and lead design decisions.
? Expertise in J2EE/Java technologies, including Struts, Spring, Hibernate, and JAX-RPC is required.
? Experience with establishing technical strategy and architecture at an enterprise level is preferred; awareness of both current and developing technologies.
? Demonstrated ability to balance priorities and simultaneous projects.
? Experience with .Net (including framework) is a plus
? Experience with development design patterns required
? Strong judgment, issues management and problem analysis techniques.
? Strong organization and coordination skills.
? Ability to work independently as well as in a cross matrix environment.
