Job description


 


Manage all phases of carrier relationships involving Life and Disability Insurance Product Lines

Oversee in cooperation with the Director of the group and Divisional Sales Managers and plan the development and implementation of new product launches and sales initiatives

Approval of all new products and marketing materials

Review and approval of product and marketing concept software

Represent the Firm at industry and vendor meetings

Serve as a liaison between Smith Barney branches, Insurance Service Centers, Insurance Carriers, Citigroup Trust, Lending and the Insurance Group

Work with Administration, Compliance Planning Centers and other internal departments (Legal, Operations, etc.) to ensure product line integrity and to protect the Firm’s Interest

Be Present at meetings, as needed, to promote the Insurance Group and further the Firm’s interests

Support Legal and Compliance regarding customer complaints and participate in mediation cases as needed

Interview Divisional Sales Managers and Regional Specialist candidates

Perform annual due diligence (audit) visits of Insurance Service Centers and Carriers 

Manage staff to further and facilitate the achievement of all of the above

Education

Bachelors Degree required.  Advanced degree a plus.  Industry certifications (e.g. CLP) a plus.

 Prior ExperienceMinimum of 5 to 7 years of industry experienceStaff management experience required

 Computer Skills

Proficient in Power Point, Excel and Word required. 

 Special Skills

Prior Life Insurance experience is required.  Prior estate planning experience is highly desired.  Excellent communication and writing skills required.  Project management experience required.  Must have the ability to multi task and work in a team environment. Prior experience in working on systems development projects (e.g. requirement definition) and interaction with an IT organization a plus.

 Licenses

Series 7 (or 6 and 63) as well as Series 24 (or 26) required. Life and  Health licenses required
