Production Support Engineer

TD Ameritrade is looking for a Production Support Engineer to work at our Secaucus, NJ location.

There are three shifts open. (6:30am to 2pm; 8am to 5pm; 10am to 6pm).

The individual in this role will primarily be responsible for supporting the TD Ameritrade quotes environment. 

This consists of managing the Remedy queue, technical writing, and supporting some additional TD Ameritrade

production applications.

This will expose the associate to a wide variety of issues that Production Support covers.

The associate will also eventually be expected to meet the following responsibilities.

 

? Monitor, maintain, & support TD Ameritrade Trading, Quote and web systems

? Contribute in the fire-fighting efforts during crisis management. Communicate to the senior level staff about service

disruption and take initial measures for damage control

? Acquire and master the general skill set to further advance the knowledge about the specific TD Ameritrade system.

? Responsible for communicating effectively to deliver outstanding service to our internal and external clients.

? Provide support and assistance to operations personnel, internal and external clients to identify and resolve technical

problems.

? Provide on-call support



Responsibilities:

 

? Understand and use manuals regarding general operating procedures.

? Document troubleshooting procedures.

? Understand, comprehend and develop the general skill set/operational duties required of a Production Support Associate.

? Monitoring the systems from the Systems Console and responding to and or notifying Manager of any unusual events.

? Provide outage details to Command Center for degradation statistics and root causes

? Operate and respond to all system monitors, alerts, and outages

? Perform a set of daily operational duties that ensure smooth operation of production systems

? Work closely with the team lead to achieve the goals assigned to the team.

? Complete assigned tasks by the team lead by meeting deadlines. The task could be individual or team effort.

? Maintain space requirements on servers

? Implement the configuration changes as deemed necessary by the team.

? Implement new software for applications currently supported under Production Support

? Troubleshoot, research, and resolve major defects, questionable functions, errors, and inconsistencies in systems functions, outputs, and content

 

 

Skills:

 

? Minimum 2 years experience in the related field/industry. AMTD experience a plus.

? Some knowledge of financial markets (equity/options/OTCBB)

? Some knowledge of DOS, FoxPro, NT, SQL,html, Java, and Linux

? Minimum 2 years experience application support or related field

? Teamwork driven as well as individual goal driven

? Excellent verbal and communication skills.

? Bachelor?s degree required.

? NASD Licenses/certifications a plus.
