IT Programmer/Analyst!

The Programmer/Analyst reviews, analyzes, designs, programs, modifies, develops and implements software applications and software products for large-scale systems.  May lead or assist the work of others.  Acts as a resource, providing support to end-users by researching problems, correcting errors and producing reports.  Works with customers to develop new or custom features to software products/services.

 

 

Essential Duties Include:

 Writes code and completes programming to meet requirements of the business users.

 Modifies existing programs or applications to meet new requirements or correct software errors.

 Converts project specifications and procedures to detailed logical flow diagrams or documentation for coding into programs.

 Tests and debugs all developed or modified programs and applications.

 Provides technical advice and assistance to users support requests by documenting or describing program functionality, extracting data from corporate databases for presentation via reports or extract files, and documenting any exceptions to expected outcomes for potential change.

 Participates in software design sessions.

 Trains, leads and/or directs the work of less experienced programmers.

 Documents or updates documentation of application programs.

 Researches and responds to programs/jobs ending in error or producing unexpected/undesired results.

 Plus other duties as required.

 

 

Experience:

- 3-7 years general programming experience required in COBOL, & KORN shell UNIX platform.  Also need to have OMNI Plus experience. 

 

- Financial industry and/or plan record keeping experience a plus.

 

 

Education:

Bachelors degree in a related field (Computer Science, MIS) or equivalent required.

 

 

Skills:Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.

 Ability to understand the relationships and outcomes between integrating systems.

 Ability to translate learned business knowledge into technological designs and solutions to business objectives.

 Ability to make decisions and recommendations within established guidelines and procedures.

 Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

 Ability to prepare high quality and reliable deliverables while working quickly, calmly and effectively under pressure form time constraints and deadlines.

 Proven ability to work independently or as a team player.

 Ability to train, mentor a less experienced peer.
