As a member of the National Property Tax Consulting practice, you will assist clients in identifying tax saving opportunities by reviewing their tangible property portfolio and associated property tax assessments and liabilities. We currently seek a Senior Associate that can participate in multiple engagements that include valuation appeals, pre/post acquisition due diligence, property tax appeals, exemption identification, and compliance.

Responsibilities Include:

Assisting Vice-Presidents and Directors in initiating and processing all property tax appeals in a timely manner
Researching new and current property tax legislation
Identifying tax savings strategies
Reviewing personal property tax returns, real and personal property tax assessments, and tax bills
Preparing valuation arguments/deliverables and negotiating values with assessment officials

Requirements Include:

Bachelors degree in a business related field
Minimum 2 years of relevant property tax consulting experience
Strong technical tax background which includes personal property, real estate or complex industrial/utility property tax consulting
Demonstrated knowledge of valuation assessments for real and personal property tax, property tax appeals, appraisal reviews, and litigation support
Extensive experience in Microsoft Excel and the preparation of valuation models
Excellent presentation skills, including superior verbal and written communication skills
Preference given to candidates who possess:

Degree with an emphasis in accounting, finance, or real estate
Advanced degree ? MST or other related Masters program
Completed coursework in real or personal property tax
Professional accreditations such as MAI, ASA, CMI, and/or CPA
