QA Performance Engineer

TD Ameritrade is seeking a motivated, skilled, quality minded, and detail oriented individual

To fill the role of Performance Testing Engineer.  The Performance Testing Engineer will be part of a small team dedicated to continuous performance testing and analysis of TD Ameritrade applications. The team will plan and perform load and latency tests to ensure that new releases of software meet their performance requirements, analyze applications to identify their limits and latency components and contribute to deployment and capacity planning exercises.

 

 

 

Key responsibilities include;

 Coordinate and conduct automated performance and capacity testing necessary for front-end, back-end and middleware systems.Create, analyze, and execute performance testing requirements including the development of test plans and automated scripts.Work with architecture team to understand user behavior models in order to predict workload characterizations.Prototype performance oriented designs in order to take advantage of newer OEM offerings Work with requirements specialists and development teams to create an accurate level of effort estimates and schedules. Participate in design and code reviews, documentation of design, and implementation review to ensure performance standards are met.Compile and analyze output from performance and capacity tests to produce reports of testing results.Perform problem solving analysis and root cause for system functionality challenges.Job QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or other technical related degree.Knowledge and working experience with automated performance simulation tools (One year of LoadRunner experience or equivalent performance testing toolset)Experience working in a multi-platform, multi-release, distributed development environment with a minimum of one year experience with performance.Experienced with programming and/or scripting languages with an aptitude for software development a plus.Ability to accurately identify and communicate bugs and systems enhancements to the development teams. Unix/Linux, Windows, Network, and PC skills.
