Position Description:

 

Work in a cross-functional Quality Assurance team supporting information systems development through design, analysis and testing and support of new and existing business systems. Perform all duties in accordance with AMC policies and procedures and all state and federal regulations.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

- Analyze, design and test new and existing systems and interfaces.

- Develop and manage test scripts, test plans and test requirements.

- Design, develop and manage automated test scripts and suites.

- Analyze, document, verify and manage system change requests (defects, enhancements, new features).

- Attend change control meetings and initiate follow-up actions when required.

- Collaborates with the programming staff to derive design and test specifications.

- Provides feedback and/or input into design and usability.

- Provides requirements to programming staff for enabling automated testing.

- Mentors other QA analysts in the use of testing methodologies and tools.

- Perform light SQL for data verification.

- Perform other duties as required.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & LICENSES:

 

- Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

- Excellent analysis and trouble-shooting skills.

- Excellent working knowledge of quality assurance process and methodologies.

- Excellent diplomatic skills in building relationships with other quality assurance team members, customers, other IS teams, and upper management to ensure project success.

- Expert working knowledge of testing web based and client/server applications and database applications.

- Proficient working knowledge of automated functional and performance testing.

- Proficient working knowledge of automated testing tools (e.g. Rational, Mercury), change management (defect, enhancement, new feature) tracking, and source/version control systems.

- Proficient working knowledge of browsers especially MS IIS 5.0, 5.5, 6.0 and Netscape 6.22/23 and 7.0

- Expert working knowledge of MS Win98/NT/2000/XP Operating Systems.

- Proficient working knowledge of UNIX Operating Systems and networking with TCP/IP.

- Excellent working knowledge of video cards and monitor resolutions, and end user conditions (e.g. bandwidth, networks, CPU/Memory utilization, etc.).

- Strong experience in project tracking, change management and risk management.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

 

- 3 to 5 years Quality Assurance experience

- 2 to 3 years developing and/or testing web based and/or client/server applications

- 1 to 3 years automated testing experience

- 4 year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent technical training and professional  work experience

- This position requires a candidate with senior level experience who can create test plans and perform testing activities with little supervision and who can also mentor other QA Analysts in quality assurance methods, techniques and tools.
