R&D Analyst II

A keen interest in autos is desirable.

(1) Symbol Research (30%)
The primary focus area of the group is to accomplish symbol model improvements continually by refinement of the symbol algorithm and final pricing process. Significant opportunities exist for looking for vehicle price segmentation especially through interactions.

(2) Symbol Updates for new vehicles (25%)
As new vehicles enter the market, we need to collect information to correctly rate vehicles on our historic symbol assignments. You need to coordinate with Ops, IT and third party vendors for the maintenance of our existing process.

(3) Ad-hoc requests (15%)
These are both vehicle related projects as well as more general R&D projects.

(4) Cross-training with territory and CAPP process (30%)
Developmental opportunities exist for learning additional responsibilities within R&D.

Desired Qualifications:
1. Undergraduate degree in Math, Econ, Finance, Stats, Operations Research or any other quantitative field.
2. Strong analytical and communication skills and the ability to document.
3. Keen interest in research and implementation of continual process improvements. Demonstrated accomplishments and ability to "think outside the box" with prior research endeavors a plus.
4. Ability to work independently, efficiently and strong attention to detail.
5. Ability to motivate, coordinate and work with a team.
6. Demonstrated aptitude for programming, prior experience with SAS a plus; High proficiency in MS Excel.
7. Keen interest to take advantage of other cross-training opportunities that exist within the group.
