Reconciliation Analyst I

Job Description: GENERAL FUNCTION: Maintains accurate records and is responsible for reviewing reconciliations to determine proper presentation, accuracy, and correct aging. Communicates pre-established guidelines to business lines regarding the proper reconciliation practices and makes improvement recommendations. Provides support to the department with developing reconciliation standards, evaluating reconciliation risk, and measuring reconciliation trends.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

I. At the direction of the manager, accurately coordinate and guide the reconciliation and risk monitoring analyses for the general ledger, DDA, and Trust house accounts.
A. Review low and medium risk account reconciliations for timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with Bancorp reconciliation standards.
B. Identify opportunities to improve the reconciliation processes and play a role in the integration of new accounting systems.
C. Assist in the monitoring of the resolution of outages from low and medium risk accounts.
II. Assist in developing and using reconciliation tools and reports to assist management in mitigating reconciliation risk.
A. Ensure the completion and accuracy of the risk monitoring reports and maintain supporting detail.
B. Assist in developing training manuals and conducting reconciliation training to key business areas.
C. Participates in the resolution of reconciling items along with key business areas.
D. Maintain and update risk monitoring policies and procedures.
III. Participates in cross training programs and backup planning.
IV. Responsible for assisting in performing various special projects as assigned.
