Research Associate/Equity Analyst, Taiwan/China

This is an exciting position for the person with the right qualifications, drive and initiative.  The Research Associate/Analyst will join our highly regarded analytical staff.  We are a successful and growing company with a strong commitment to our clients and our staff members. 

 

The responsibilities of the position include:

1.  Identify and analyze investment opportunities in listed equities in assigned markets, focusing primarily on Taiwan and China.  Research will be focused on obtaining and analyzing company and industry information as related to given investment opportunities.

2.  Screen universe of investment opportunities through data and market research;

3.  Research company fundamentals and competitive outlook, including assessment of company strategy and execution capabilities and in-depth analysis of competitive positioning and industry outlook.

4.  Build detailed financial models.

5.  Work closely with Portfolio Manager in constructing and monitoring country portfolios;

6. Assist in preparation and participate in presentation of portfolio and related materials at annual meetings.

 

The qualifications of the position include:

1.  Training in finance and/or economics. 

2.  Strong analytical/quantitative skills

3.  Two to three years experience in equity analysis

4.  Ability to travel three to four months per year

5.  Fluent in Chinese; knowledge of local areas
