Risk and/or P&L Manager

L.A.M. Executive Search, Inc. is a leading provider of professionals to the Financial Services Industry.  Most of our clients are Top Tier Firms and boutique Hedge Funds.  We are happy to offer the following positions located in New York City for a Risk and/or P&L Manager. 

 

Because of expansion in a number of new product areas and strategic initiatives, this top tier firm has a number roles open within Risk, P&L, and IT.  The positions will range from AVP to VP level and possibly manage up to 10 individuals. 

 

Risk and PL Role:  Associate to VP levels

 

One of the following three categories of proficiency and experience will be considered for these roles:

 Degrees in: Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or Statistics.MBA, or Finance major with deep product knowledge. If Product knowledge is limited, proficiency in programming (languages such as VBA, C, C++, SQL) Detailed knowledge of Credit Default Swap (CDS), Interest Rate Swaps (IRS), Bonds, Equity, Options, IR Options, Futures, Commodities), and Loans.

 

As this department is growing in scope and responsibilities, candidates may become involved in a wide range of activities from Risk Management, P&L, IT, Research, Quantitative Analysis, etc.

Responsibilities To produce a daily P&L report for the Credit Derivative desks, as well as Risk verification for the Trading Desk, ultimately used by Risk Management for VAR, Risk Management, etc. 

 

Manager level employees would oversee a group of approximately 10 P&L producers, understanding the Desk positions, Risk, P&L explanation of a Risk based P&L (not Assets and Liabilities but Greeks), and be at a top tier firm trading a large amount of volume ( Hedge Funds or Banks ).
