SENIOR TRADING ANALYST – FX / FIXED INCOME

Our client in Boston is looking for a Sr. Trading Analyst to join their team

   

RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

?  Monitor daily trading activity and provide trader/manager support for various portfolios by ensuring the proper pricing, reconciliation of cash and currency balances, accounting of corporate actions, income accrual, collection of coupon and dividend payments, etc.

?  Maintain integrity of the current portfolio accounting system and general ledger.

?  Work one-on-one with Portfolio Managers to generate and reconcile a daily and monthly profit and loss statement and other daily accounting control reports.  This and other relevant investment information will be communicated to the Portfolio Managers on a timely basis.

?  Perform monthly close to compute return on capital and return of income for the Performance department.

?  Prepare written commentary and analysis of portfolio return to lend insight into the account?s performance.

?  Offer creativity in dealing with problem solving issues and idea development; flexibility in responding to the changing environment and daily workflow; and a value-added approach to all projects.

?  Reports to Manager ? Accounting Operations

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

?  BS Accounting/Finance

?  Minimum of 5 years relevant portfolio accounting experience.  Hedge fund exposure helpful.

?  Knowledge of financial markets and products both domestic and international.  Candidate should be familiar with equity and debt, as well as possess good general derivative product knowledge, including: foreign exchange, options, futures, swaps, and CDS.

?  Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

?  Proficiency with general multi-currency accounting principles and general ledger systems.

?  Experience with spreadsheet applications.

?  Excellent organizational skills.

?  Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of company.  Experience dealing one on one with portfolio managers and traders is critical.

?  Capability to demonstrate leadership qualities.

?  Must be extremely detail oriented and self motivated.
