Senior Analyst, Global Futures Finance

Job Responsibilities:


Financial Futures & Options (?FF&O?) executes and clears on behalf of its internal and external client base.  The Finance team is responsible for all phases of its financial support, including accounting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and acts as advisor to our business partners. The department performs daily and monthly reporting for a Proprietary Portfolio book which may have investments in Government Agencies, SWAPS, Treasuries, Mortgage Back Securities and Money Market Investments and other instruments as permitted.

 

An ideal candidate will have the ability to support as many of these roles as possible, drawing on industry experience and strong financial acumen.  He/she will participate as an integral part of the Global Futures Financial Reporting Group, maintaining the legal books and records in accordance with accounting, regulatory, industry and firm guidelines. Emphasis is placed on various facets of a month-end financial statement closing cycle and the impact to Regulatory and Management Reporting. Additional aspects include error reporting for FF&O, monitoring global exchange fees, maintaining inter-company and affiliated broker relationships, participating on various projects from a legal and management reporting perspective, and the preparation of various quarterly/annual disclosures. The individual will be involved with various firm initiatives worked on by the group.

 

Recently, the interaction with our internal clients has increased and the demand for financial information has grown considerably.  The ability to partner with the business to assist in its growth is of paramount importance.Qualifications:
Accounting degree with 5-7 years of related industry experience coupled with a financial reporting background. CPA or public experience preferred but not required. Candidate must be PC literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with emphasis on Excel and Access skills. Strong independent analytical, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Knowledge of the Financial Futures & Option Markets and familiarity with Sunguard Futures AS400 (GMI) and/or Oracle General Ledger and/or Hyperion applications would be beneficial.
