Senior Director, Market Management

If our values speak to you, then speak to us.  The Sr. Director, Market Management will be responsible for developing our business in each segment of our US market.  Identified sub-segments in the advisor market are:  Wirehouse and Large Regional B/D; Mid- to Small B/D, Banks and Trusts; and Independent B/Ds and RIAs.  Roles also exist for the Investor Relations, Reference and Institutional segments.Principal Accountabilities This role is responsible for interfacing with three constituencies inside and outside of S&P:  Clients, Sales and ERS. With regard to Clients, the Sr. Director, Market Management will be responsible for  Building client relationships that will serve to identify generalizable and addressable needs Identifying segment-specific new revenue opportunities Building and communicating segment strategies internally and externally based on direct client relationships and Sales feedback Holding responsibility for existing business in his/her segment With regard to Sales, the role will be responsible for: Ensuring sales is equipped to sell new business propositions Evaluating and communicating relevant sales pipeline Non-standard negotiations and contracts Pricing Fielding and assessing Sales requests, inquiries, ideas, etc. on a segment-specific basisWith regard to ERS, the role will be responsible for: Developing and communicating business plans to address identified opportunities (market/opportunity size, competitive analysis, high level requirements, project P&L) Working with Product Development and Content teams to refine and implement plans Reporting to management on progress against segment strategies In addition, the role will be expect to function with other segment managers as a team, sharing knowledge, experience and client relationships in order to identify and maximize similarities across segments and cross-segment business opportunities. 

Knowledge & Experience 6-10 years in Financial Services with significant client interface component MBA or other advanced degree or certification preferred Strategic, market-oriented perspective Strong communication and interpersonal skills Focus on execution Problem Solving Identifying and quantifying client needs and potential solutions, and confirming and communicating the benefits the solution will provide to the client Prioritize, take ownership and create a sense of urgency around addressing identified opportunities in a profit-maximizing manner Direct and optimize our sales efforts by building relationships with Sales whereby they fully comprehend, accept and proactively seek guidance and assistance
