Senior Manager - Competitive Intelligence

TD Ameritrade is looking for a Sr. Manager - Competitive Intelligence to work in our Jersey City, NJ office. The primary function of this position is to provide data on competitor pricing, financial performance, product and service offering, hiring and other key developments.  This will include a series of regular reports, as well as ad hoc analyses driven internally or by clients.  This team will be expected to become experts on the performance of our key competitors, as well as on their offering.  This team will serve a series of internal clients, including product development, segment leadership, sales and marketing, IFA, the office of strategic management and the office of the chief executive.

 

Specific tasks will include maintaining pricing and performance databases, monitoring our test accounts, mystery shopping, forensic analysis of competitor SEC filings, coverage of their analyst days and other interactions with the media, and frequent ad hoc analyses germane to key clients.  This person will likely serve as an advisor to various clients, providing insight into competitor performance, focus and products as an input to strategic decision making. The Competitive Intelligence team must become experts in using and demonstrating our competitor products, as they will participate in all new product launches.

 Required Competencies

? Minimum 2 years of competitive intelligence experience in financial services

? Detail oriented research skills ? extensive knowledge of web browsers and search engines, and proven creativity and resourcefulness in uncovering sources for secondary data

? Solid analytical skills

? Critical thinking, writing, presentation, and communication skills

? Strong client service and team orientation

? Financial services industry knowledge about significant markets, major competitors, current trends and patterns of behavior

? Capacity to handling multiple complex tasks simultaneously

? Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office applications to include Outlook, Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint
