Senior Manager - New Product Risk Assessment & Business Unit Compliance
The incumbent will be responsible for the Business Unit Compliance (BUC) function, including managing and directing up to two individuals (all of whom will be highly skilled professionals with designations such as CPA and/or MBA). This function ensures Radian Guaranty operations are well controlled and are adhering to Credit Policy guidelines "" a key part of the MI Optimization transformation.
The incumbent will also be responsible for the New Products Risk Assessment (NPRA) function, which involves participation on New Product development teams to ensure the product as designed is appropriate from a risk perspective, and that the related operations are well controlled and efficient. In this role, the incumbent is also responsible for the evaluation of tools and services that can be of benefit to Radian.
The incumbent reports to the VP-DLPQA, NPRA and BUC, and frequently interacts with (and must effectively make persuasive arguments to) a wide range of Radian personnel, including top management
Maintains a listing of BUC auditable units, and a risk model or other appropriate method for prioritizing reviews to be undertaken by the function.
Assigns BUC professionals to undertake selected reviews and provides overall direction and guidance to this team, ensuring reviews are undertaken after appropriate planning, with a proper scope, objective, and procedures performed.
Conduct necessary risk assessments of Radian New Products, including participation on New Product development teams.
Conduct evaluations of vendor tools and services that can be of benefit to Radian, and spearhead the roll-out of selected tools.
Manage and successfully motivate direct reports, prepare performance assessments, and create performance improvement actions plans for staff when required.
Develop or update, and successfully implement, policies and procedures as needed for all of the functions described above.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's Degree Required, Master's degree preferred.
CPA preferred.
8- 10 Years experience
Understanding and hands on experience in all facets of auditing/ compliance reviews (the experience/skills required could come from an internal audit or public accounting background).
Extensive general business experience and knowledge, allowing the incumbent to assess the potential benefits and pitfalls of new product ideas and the cost-benefit of implementing new vendor tools and services. Mortgage industry experience required.
Capable of effective and persuasive presentation/communication to senior level positions, including excellent writing skills.
Prior Supervisory/Management responsibility, and effective team leader/ facilitator
Prior Project Management responsibility
PC skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Visio, Access). Ability to retrieve, and to effectively analyze and draw proper conclusion from, various company data, is a plus.
