Senior Reporting Analyst

Brief Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Reporting and Analysis and working in conjunction with members of Finance, Credit and Risk Management, this role assists in or has direct responsibility for the development of analysis and reporting necessary to proactively identify and manage risk with respect to portfolios and products.  Job Responsibilities:


? Creates, analyzes, and provides commentary on monthly and quarterly portfolio reviews for all business units and consolidated BFS.

? Completes the production of periodic reporting requests / data feed required by ML Corporate Credit.

? Assists the business units in preparing required periodic reporting (e.g. annual real estate review, annual residual review) and other ad hoc requests

? Acts as secondary interface (after Project Manager of Reporting and Analysis and in conjunction with members of Finance, Credit, Compliance and Risk Management) with ML Corporate Credit on various reporting requests

? Participates in the development and maintenance of all pricing models and the periodic validation of portfolio assumptions used in the models

? Understands systems issues as part of ordinary course of responsibilities and acts as a leader in recommending enhancements to make systems more efficient and reliable

? Works with Finance to create product profitability reporting by combining portfolio specific data with financial data from related cost centers, and participates in the development of profitability analyses for new products.

? Leads the testing of changes and enhancements to the DataMart

? Employs statistical techniques, when possible, in performing back testing and validation of the ALLL, Economic Risk Capital (ERC), and pricing model, and recommends adjustments as necessary

? Provides and analyzes data required for evaluation and execution of future structured financing alternatives (i.e., securitizations) and new product initiatives

? Assists in the design and/or implementation of model and process for performing portfolio sensitivity analysis incorporating various interest rate assumptionsMay also assist in other projects, as assignedQualifications:


? BA/BS degree

? 4 years of relevant risk management/analytics, financial modeling, credit or reporting experience, preferably in a commercial lending/leasing business.

? Specific knowledge of BFS products and its accounting and reporting systems a plus. 

? Strong analytical and written communication skills required. 

? Must be a team player with excellent inter-personal skills.  Individual must be self-motivated, with a history of meeting or exceeding goals
