Senior Tax Analyst

CITY: Stamford STATE: Connecticut COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
* Prepare federal and state returns (including several small consolidated filings) for taxable and tax-exempt corporate and partnership entities with an emphasis on real estate and portfolio investments
* Ensure accuracy and completeness of information provided to third party return preparers
* Assist manager in reviewing returns prepared by third parties
* Provide various tax analyses including with respect to earnings and profits, partnership tax basis and personal holding company status
* Calculate quarterly federal and state tax estimates
* Calculate, prepare and file federal and state extensions and estimated payments
* Assist in any federal and state audit examinations
* Prepare check requests and wire transfers for tax and other payments
* Coordinate with internal groups and third party return preparers
* Handle correspondence with federal and state taxing authorities
* Train colleague in preparing and reviewing federal and state returns
* Assist in other projects as required


Qualifications/Requirements:
* Bachelors degree or high school diploma plus four years work experience
* 3+ years of experience in taxation (prefer partnership and corporate taxation focusing primarily on real estate and private equity investments)
* Extremely well organized and detail-oriented
* Able to work in dynamic environment balancing multiple tax and business issues
* Experienced in interpersonal and business communications
* Able to work independently
* Extensive computer skills especially Excel, Word and Power Point


Desired:
* CPA or enrolled agent preferred (MST a plus)
* Greenbelt Six Sigma certified
* Knowledge of CCH Prosystems Tax Preparation Software
* Diverse financial experience (accounting and analysis)
