Senior Tax Research Specialist

Under minimal direction, the Sr. Tax  Specialist works to support all of our servicing escalation areas with any issues related to Taxes for Prime and SubPrime mortgages and Home Equity loans.  The Sr. Tax Specialist will review each issue received to identify all tax issues that may need adjustments and will forward to the tax vendor for correction.  If the issue is not tax related, the Sr. Tax specialist will pass this information back to the originating representative to forward on to the correct department for the necessary adjustment. The Sr. Tax Specialist will monitor all issues and work closely with the Tax vendor to ensure each issue is completed accurately and within SLA. This position will also provide feedback for trending and root cause analysis, information that can be used for Quality review of vendor performance and information that can be communicated to our origination Channels.

 

Performs the following actions

 

80% - Escalation Response

 

? Assist front end escalation departments with all issues related to tax acting as a liaison with our vendor’s.

?  Review loan and, identify tax issues. Forward loan to tax vendor for resolution via workflow/LSAMS and email. All issues to be tracked to ensure proper resolution within SLA. 

?Work directly with escalation areas to ensure customer is receiving the best quality service.

? Review all issues for accurate resolution. Provide management with feedback for vendor performance report card.
Perform tax maintenance and tax disbursements when necessary.

 

 

15% Department Reporting:

? Completes management reports, provides tracking and trending of all escalated issues, and identifies risks.

? Accurately maintain KPM database.

 

5% Department Projects:

? Performs special projects and other duties as required.

 



 


? Knowledge


? Mortgage banking, specifically loan servicing.


? Knowledge of CHF servicing and accounting systems, RE, FM, VLS, HP, LSAMS, CPI helpful.


? Strong technical aptitude.


? Solid PC / software knowledge including; MS Access, MS Word, MS Excel.


 


? Education


? College degree in a business related field or commensurate work experience preferred.
