Sr. Accounting Clerk

MeadWestvaco Envelope Group Plant based in Dallas, Texas manufactures and prints a variety of envelopes for office product stores and specific applications for customers in direct marketing and finance.  Currently, we have an immediate need for an Associate Administrative Assistant.

 

JOB SUMMARY: 

The Associate Administrative Assistant will work with the Administrative Manager to support all financial system for the Plant.  This person will become familiar with the accounting clerical positions to understand and assist coverage during vacation and absences.  They will assist in the development of L&E Rates, monthly closing activities and the daily maintenance of the Finished Goods Locator System. 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:

- Maintain spread sheets that communicate operating results and related information to Plant and Group management.  Examines reports for irregularities and assists in analysis to support financial results.

- Maintain operating data needed for forecasting, budgeting, and financial management by required deadlines.

- Participates in preparation of various reporting materials as required.

- Develops and maintains personal skill through self-development.

- Understands business systems (SAP, Locator, OPS, PeopleSoft, Kronos) in order to support clerical coverage.

- Completes other ad hoc data entry needed to support general needs of the business and aid management control and decision making.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

- General Accounting knowledge. 

- Associates degree in Accounting or Finance preferred but not required. 

- Minimum of 2 years practical experience in financial record keeping. 

- Ability to perform computations or analyses using statistical, financial and logical concepts.

- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Ability to grasp and understand new programs and systems is a must. 

- Effective project and time management skills; strong organizational and planning skills.

- Excellent interpersonal skills. Must be highly motivated and possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
