Sr Analyst, Internal Sales & Service

JOB SUMMARY:  Provides superior service and sales support to producers.  Provides superior and effective service support to customers.  Processes business in accordance with government regulations, contract provisions, and internal procedures and controls.  Functions as a product subject matter expert and answers questions from multiple distribution channels.  Manages and resolves difficult and unusual cases.  Uncovers leading sales opportunities on service calls with producers and retains assets with Nationwide.


RELATIONSHIP:  Reports to Supervisor/Manager.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.
Receives and responds to incoming calls from producers and customers.  Handles service and sales inquiries across multiple distribution channels.  Is a subject matter expert and understands all aspects of the assigned product (current and past products).  Maintains up-to-date records of all conversations and can quickly and easily maneuver through all processing systems.  Processes trades.

Provides superior service to producers and customers in support of Nationwide?s service and sales objectives.  Demonstrates a superior understanding of customer needs and emphasizes timely responses.  Educates consumers and producers on product features and benefits.  Communicates detailed product information confidently and in an easy to understand manner.

Recommends product and procedural modifications to facilitate sales.
4.
Resolves difficult and unusual cases with minimal assistance.  Researches and corrects errors.  Analyzes and deciphers unusual problems to determine proper course of action.  Implements resolution or involves the appropriate internal administrative areas when necessary to ensure accurate completeness of the issue.  Follows-up to ensure completion.

Assists in developing producer training sales and product seminars.
6.
Engages consumers and producers to retain their assets with the company.  Probes to understand reasons for asset flight and offers alternative solutions for liquidation of assets.
7.
Consults with personnel in licensing, compliance, underwriting, contract administration, underwriting and administration and others to resolve complex problems and answer inquiries.
8.
Compiles management information such as sales activity, proposals requested, sales results, and production for the product lines of group annuity, mutual funds, investment advisory services, property and casualty and/or life insurance.
9.
Acts as a sales specialist and supports tactical sales by turning service inquiries into sales opportunities.  Provides financial expertise and solutions to producers.  Uncovers leading sales opportunities and markets Nationwide products and solutions to producers.
10.
Assists in gathering profile information for producers.
11.
Performs other related duties as assigned.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate studies in insurance, marketing, business management preferred.

Licenses/Designations:  Progress towards completion of designations such as CPCU, CLU, CEBS or FLMI is desirable. Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit.  Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented.  If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience:  Four years working experience in a product related or in a technical position in SEC, IRS or Insurance departments, compliance, plan/contract administration or successful experience in field sales of property and casualty, annuity, pension or investment products is required.

Knowledge: Proven knowledge of assigned products, regulatory requirements, plan design; of installation and continuing service of severed products; and, of our products, contracts, and distribution channels is desirable.

Skills/Competencies: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for oral and written communication with a widely varied audience.  Proven ability to analyze retirement plan documents and contracts; to analyze customer?s  or producer's needs and determine the most appropriate solution; and to set work priorities in accordance with established standards.

JOB CONDITIONS:

Overtime Eligibility:  Not Eligible (Exempt).
Working Conditions: Call center environment. Extended periods of time sitting in front of computer to answer in coming calls.
