Sr Communications Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY: Implements internal and/or external communication programs and vehicles in support of company and/or business unit objectives and initiatives. Coordinates and administers communication plans working closely with manager.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develops, produces and distributes communication tactics for moderately complex internal and/or external communication projects.
2. Develops and implements communication programs for assigned internal and external audiences.
3. Prepares and disseminates of information concerning the company and/or business unit through in-house publications through print, online, video or face-to-face communications tactics.
4. Creates basic communication plans, discussion guides, and presentations with guidance from manager.
5. Creates and manages communication timelines. Writes appropriate associate e-mails, articles, print communications and online content. Creates talking points for associate events.
6. Assists in creating pitches, talking points and plan for media.
7. Writes press releases, media statements, pitches, fact sheets and online content targeted to the media
8. Writes complex internal and external publication materials, sales collaterals, promotional pieces and/or direct mailings targeted to customer, producer, agent or other consumer audiences.
9. Coordinates the production and distribution of communication materials.
10. Establishes agendas and coordinates all logistics for special programs/meetings.
11. Performs need assessments and evaluates possible solutions/alternatives in concert with project lead.
12. Writes articles for internal or external publications. Finds story ideas. May edit for message, as well as copy edit. May coordinate with designers, photographers. May layout publication.
13. Performs other related duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Undergraduate studies in communications, journalism, advertising or related field.

Licenses/Designations: Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.

Experience: Three years experience in a communications field including participation in corporate communications projects, editing & writing communications, and developing & executing communications projects.

Knowledge: Proven knowledge in communication techniques. Demonstrated knowledge in advertising, public relations, and/or sales marketing communication concepts is preferred.

Skills/Competencies: Must have the ability to execute short term communications projects. Must have the ability to analyze business needs and develop communications plans and programs. Must be able to research, plan and develop communications tactics. Must have the ability to influence creative service teams and management. Must have the ability to prepare and present verbal presentations and demonstrations translating policy and technical concepts to all types of audiences. Must have high-level verbal and written communication skills. May require bilingual skills i.e., English and Spanish.

JOB CONDITIONS:
Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt).
Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Extended work hours may be necessary during periods of heavier volume of work.
