SI Platform Development and Technology's objective is to define, develop and gain adoption of innovative products and services for independent investment advisors working with Schwab Institutional. Specifically, this group's focus is on the development of world class online services, including automated account opening/funding/servicing tools and trading tools and solutions. Through partnership with other enterprises and functional areas, this group is responsible for delivering tools and services that provide a superior online client experience for advisors, enable SI to successfully compete for and retain advisors' business, and that help SI build scale and productivity for future growth.


Job Description


 


Position Highlights


This individual will define, develop and deliver online account opening tools for advisors to further automate and enhance the account opening process between an investment advisor and Schwab. A successful candidate will be able to understand the advisor's workflow in their office and recognize their pain points in order to develop appropriate solutions.  In addition, the individual will understand how to match possible solutions to SI's processes and systems to further streamline the business process at Schwab.  This individual will be responsible for product development and management from inception (business case) to securing advisor adoption and ongoing enhancements/maintenance.  Success will require working closely with technology partners and other functional groups to set the vision and drive to execution.


 


Technical/Functional Qualifications


 


BA or equivalent and 6-8 years experience or MA followed by 2-4 years experience in product development and product marketing.

Ability to thoroughly understand the client experience and think out of the box to design business processes using automation to improve that experience. Very strong technical orientation and technical product experience working with online services.

Experience conceiving online tools and automation improvements working with technology to implement.

Strong team leadership and product management skills, including demonstrated track record in managing complex products.

Demonstrated ability to set a strategic direction and define a tactical plan to achieve it. 

Ability to create a comprehensive business case and sell ideas to senior management.

Very strong client focus and passion toward improving the client experience. Strong communication skills to both sell your ideas and also to develop the position strategy to promote your product.
