Sr. Product Manager

  This position is responsible for creating, managing, and implementing the global product strategy for comprehensive product-lines to include several individual products/services, throughout the full product lifecycle and for Russell/Mellon?s various client segments. This individual will act as the strategy and subject matter expert, both internally and externally, for these product-lines, and will be responsible for helping to maximize its profitability within key target markets.  These activities will provide Russell/Mellon's senior management with the necessary information to leverage market opportunities and make strategic business decisions. 

 

Bachelor?s degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; business administration/finance highly preferred. MBA or CFA desirable. Six to ten years (or more) of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Ability to read, analyze and interpret the most complex documents.  Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.  Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style.  Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups and/or boards of directors. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Internet software: familiarity with web technology and research using web tools.  Project Management software; some familiarity with Microsoft Project preferred. Spreadsheet software; Excel experience required. Word Processing software; Word experience required. Powerpoint, presentation software. Deep and broad understanding of and significant, hands-on experience with R/Ms (and competitors) global products, services and various operations; solid technical and analytical skills; ability to deliver high-caliber written and verbal communications, including white papers, product recommendations, business cases, analyses, etc., to Russell/Mellon?s senior management, Board, etc. Requires direct, hands-on experience and skills in the relevant product areas, including products, services, methodologies, and the industry/marketplace. Holder of CFA or similar finance designation (or work towards) is highly desired. Supervisory experience necessary. Prior management of major products and/or projects required.
