We currently have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Team Leader to join Interactive Data?s, FT Interactive Data business in its busy Global Data Services Department -working with the Manager and Supervisor of the department to ensure quality and timeliness of data.
General Summary:
The purpose of this job is to oversee the day to day tasks of the Pricing Specialists as well as carrying out day to day production duties. In general, the Team Leader will ensure that the goal of maintaining the quality and timeliness of all pricing data that is transmitted and databased into FT Interactive Data, is achieved. This entails monitoring the staff on their tasks, which are as follows: monitoring incoming feeds; performing prescribed data quality tests and universe size checks; maintaining relationships with data providers and product representatives; performing research on data anomalies and proactive concerns; and communicating any data delays through appropriate channels.
Job ResponsibilitiesProactively recommending changes in procedures as necessary, to adapt to the constantly changing environment and requirements of Data Services. Communicating changes in procedures to staff in a clear and concise manner.Ensure the timely arrival and monitoring of necessary feeds/data-sets.Provide team members with required skills for reading and understanding all versions of data and price edit reports, while certifying necessary edits/changes/deletions are made as required.Ensure teams are accurately recording all edit/change/deletion records. Reading, interpreting and executing various reports generated daily which assist in the maintenance of various databases.Maintaining current and historical data in various databases.Matching securities with their related identifiers across multiple databases.Make certain that maintenance of exchange/vendor holiday schedules and time zone changes for all covered Global Markets are carried out as required.Write documentation on specific tasks, data types and country/exchange profiles, as required in the group.Write and monitor that clear and concise descriptions of data quality or feed disruptions for internal Alert database are carried out when required. Ensure teams are responding to data and pricing queries in a timely manner.Train staff on proper techniques, protocol and use of validation procedures concerning pricing data using trade time and sales as well as using exchange websites and third party sources as validation tools for researching data anomalies, and knowledge of internal workings of various FTID databases. Contributing to end of month status reports to keep management abreast of happenings within the groupMaintaining the documentation database, assigning new entries and editing submissions as needed.Assisting in the recruitment of new staffContributing to each staff member?s annual review, as requested by the SupervisorResearching current methods of data validation with Data Product Management and contributing to build this knowledge base within teams

Qualifications and SkillsPreferable - BA or BS degree or equivalent experience2-3 years of professional experience in a related industry, or professional experience that includes independent research, problem solving, teamwork, solid oral/written communications skillsFamiliarity with FT Interactive Data databases and products an advantagePC literate - Word, Excel, Internet/E-mail Sound numerical skills.
