Underwriter - Arden

CITY: Los Angeles STATE: California COUNTRY: USA Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
As an Underwriter with Arden, a business unit of GE Commercial Finance, Real Estate, this individual will be working with Risk Leader and Senior Underwriter this position is responsible for underwriting single assets primarily office buildings.

*Performing all aspects of underwriting and due diligence for primarily office building investments ( acquisitions, development, reposition, and conversion of R&D ) in west coast markets.
*Conducting the tasks of: site inspections, analyzing historical operating performance, reviewing and analyzing all relevant deal documentation, market analysis, preparing a 5 year cash flow projection, and determining current market value.
*Preparing and presenting underwritten conclusions, based on facts gathered during underwriting process, to deal team and credit committee.
*Coordinating "kick-off" calls on all new transactions with originations, closings, third party, contractors and outside partners.
*Participating in process improvement efforts and support quality initiatives.
*Interacting with prospective and existing GE Commercial Finance Real Estate partners
*Collecting and analyzing all documentation including: operating statements, operating and capital improvement budgets, rent rolls, tenant leases, and ground leases.
*Generating cash flows and valuation using industry software and proprietary financial models.
*Preparing a comprehensive underwriting package, providing strong support for conclusions, and present findings to an internal credit committee.

Qualifications/Requirements:
*Bachelor's Degree AND a minimum of 2 years of underwriting commercial real estate OR in lieu of the Bachelor Degree a minimum of four years experience underwriting commercial real estate.
*Proven advanced proficiency with Excel, ARGUS, and proprietary underwriting tools
*Proven intermediate proficiency with PowerPoint
*Must be able to travel 2-4 times per month.
