Underwriter III

Function: Individual will analyze all components of residential loan applications, and grant approvals within designated limits according to the company?s established lending parameters.



 

Essential Responsibilities:



The individual is responsible for:



Analyzing credit, income, and asset documentation.





Analyzing title, appraisal, and other related collateral documentation.





Quickly establishing a working knowledge of lending programs/underwriting guidelines.





Maintaining an emphasis on quality control, and legal/lending compliance.





Providing professional communication with clients and co-workers, while working in a high-volume environment.





Average 6+ new files underwritten per day, in addition to handling conditions within acceptable timeframes.





Authority:



Stand-Alone 1st Mortgages ? Maximum 100% LTV to maximum $500,000 loan amount.



Stand-Alone 2nd Mortgages ? Maximum 100&CLTV to maximum $200,000 loan amount.



1st/2nd Combos ? Maximum $500,000 combined loan amounts.



Higher LTVs or CLTVs, higher loan amounts, Non-Full-Doc 1st/2nd Combos, and all exceptions require 2nd signature.





 

Other Responsibilities:



Other miscellaneous duties as may be assigned from time-to-time by Manager.





 

Skills/Requirements:



Experience: 3+ years related mortgage experience. Minimum 2 years Alt A and Sub-prime underwriting experience required. Must be proficient in automated underwriting applications (DU, LP, Clues/Clout). Must be detail oriented, and have strong analytical skills and decision-making ability. A ?make sense? approach and positive attitude are required.



Education: College degree or equivalent experience. Must be proficient in loan tracking software, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
