Underwriter - Real Estate

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
As an Underwriter with GE Commercial Finance, Real Estate, this individual will be responsible for:

- Completing underwriting on real estate equity transactions ranging in size from $1MM and up
- Coordinating "kick-off" calls on all new transactions with originations, closings, third party, contractors, and outside partners
- Analyzing historical and projected future property economics, including use of ARGUS and proprietary underwriting tools
- Ordering and ensuring timely completion of Net Operating Income (NOI) Audit and other third party due diligence reports
- Completing site inspections on potential investments
- Completing Preliminary Deal Screens and full Credit Requests for presentation to North American Equity Investment Committee
- Participating in process improvement and Quality initiatives as required

Qualifications/Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 Real Estate experience, including 3+ years experience underwriting Real Estate investments
- Bachelor Degree (a high school diploma/GED and 10 years of related work experience).
- Motivated self-starter who can assume control of all aspects of the underwriting process including interaction with prospective and existing GE Commercial Finance Real Estate partners
- Asset management /workout and/or closing experience a plus
- Demonstrated analytical, organizational, teaming, interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and processes concurrently
- Superior computer skills e.g. Excel, Word, Dyna, Project and ARGUS

- Green Belt Certification
- Prior GE Real Estate Global Valuations Team Experience
