User Experience Specialist

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the content strategy across all TIAA-CREF online media and eBusiness applications.

 

The Online Editor works closely with the web user experience and production teams, e-business managers and marketing partners.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

? Edit and/or write online content, Help systems, error messages and meta data

? Produce content inventories and contribute to site map creation

? Understand user-centric design and use Personas effectively

? Communicate and collaborate with user experience, design and technical teams

through all stages of development

? Understand and promote usability best practices as they relate to online writing,

including accessibility and search engine optimization

? Work with site maps, flow charts, functional specifications and navigational

wireframes to create and update content

? Collaborate with designers and Relationship Managers to produce content that

 integrates appropriately within existing design or business constraints

? Monitor internal search engine results and identify user search trends

? Advocate consistent, clear and actionable content across all sites

? Attend and contribute to project lifecycle meetings

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

? Must be an excellent writer, editor and proofreader (attention to detail is mandatory)

? Strong background in writing for the Web, including writing for search

engine optimization

? Experience negotiating content changes with multiple stakeholders

? Knowledge of website design and development; ability to work across technical

design mediums

? Knowledge of all steps required in the online creative development process

? Able to juggle multiple priorities and deadlines

? Must be willing to switch gears quickly and assist in other areas to meet deadlines

? Well organized with strong project management skills

? Experience with AP style guide

? Current knowledge of content trends across industries

? Basic skills in online publishing technology (Dreamweaver, content publishing

 systems, HTML, Photoshop)

? Some travel required



? Bachelor’s degree or higher in writing, English, communication, or journalism

? Minimum of two years as online writer (writing samples required)

? Experience with financial services industry a plus
