Global Corporate and Investment Bank, Global Relationship bank (‘GRB’) U.S. Industrials Group Shipping Team-


The GRB is part of Citigroup’s Global Corporate and Investment Bank. The GRB manages client relationships within industry groups and is dedicated to designing and delivering innovative solutions across continents, products and industries. Citigroup offers unlimited opportunities for talented and hard-working individuals looking for professional challenge and personal growth.  The U.S. Shipping team covers a diverse set of clients in the container, liner, bulk, and tanker segments as well as the offshore contract drilling and cruise industries.  An interest in shipping is clearly important for this particular position as part of the global team specializing in serving our clients in the industry.


 


 


Junior Bankers in the Industrial Group support senior bankers in maintaining and promoting client relationships. The Junior Banker cross-sells Citigroup’s full spectrum of products and services to generate revenue by identifying and responding to customers’ financial, advisory, transactional, and other needs.  The successful candidate will be building on a foundation of solid analytical skills coupled with a comprehensive understanding of finance and credit in order to develop deal origination and client management skills. There are heavy marketing and execution responsibilities which are coordinated with senior bankers, Relationship Associates, Citigroup’s international offices, product partners and others.  Responsibilities include working on deals and coordinating teams, credit process oversight, and client contact as understudy to the senior bankers.





 


 


 









BA or BS required. MBA preferred. NASD Series 7 and 63 required (may be deferred by only for 90 days). Successful completion of Management Associate Training Program as well as at least two years experience as an Associate (three years preferred).


 


Must have excellent client presence and communications skills (both verbal and written). Must be proactive with keen attention to detail; be able to prioritize easily and quickly. Must be able to function in an unstructured environment, work independently and run deals with guidance (but not constant supervision) from seniors, and solve issues by taking ownership and following through until a task is complete. Must be a team player willing to support a range of accounts, product partners, and colleagues when necessary. Experience with large corporate clients, capital markets products, derivatives, credit, cash management, trade, finance and securities products is highly desirable.
