Client processes transactions initiated by credit and debit cards, checks, and other access cards from merchant point-of-sale terminals, ATMs and web sites.
Client controls the entire processing sequence, including sales, merchant payment equipment, design and hosting of Internet store fronts, transaction authorization, capture, settlement and customer service.

 Position Summary:

? The Director of Credit Risk will organize staff and direct the risk analysis, credit approval and portfolio management function

? Deliver appropriate underwriting and portfolio management strategies to support various channel growth goals. 

? Design and implement the new credit and portfolio management policies and infrastructure to fully support the business objectives and plans. 

? Ensure all credit policies and procedures are fully documented and approved in accordance with RBS Group standards/guidelines. 

? Manage Portfolio quality and loss performance. 

? Develop, train, monitor, coach, and provide performance management for staff with the goal to enhance their skills and pursue promotional opportunities. 

? Provide guidance to credit staff on policy issues, exceptions, risk ratings, deal structuring, appropriate hold limits and identification of covenants and other key provisions.

? Provide Management reporting on portfolio performance and trends.

? Leverage and apply understanding of business environment including current events and economic cycles to analysis.

? Fully comply with all legal, regulatory and mandatory requirements relating to credit risk function.

? Represents the business on all credit matters requiring review by CFG and RBS credit committees.

? Manage complex customer issues by being attentive to detail, identifying most appropriate action and taking initiative to address the situation - Serve as escalation point for merchant and sales inquiries on credit issues. 

? Develop and manage Key Performance Indicators and Portfolio metrics for the credit function ? ensure SLAs are met.

 

Successful Candidate?s Background:

? Undergraduate degree in Accounting or related field required.

? Master's Degree preferred.

? Minimum 15 years of underwriting experience required.

? Superior credit, lending, transaction and portfolio knowledge, policy expertise and analytical abilities.

? Knowledge of Visa/Master Card rules and regulations preferred.

? Minimum 5 years in a significant leadership role.

? High level of communication skills both written and verbal.

? High level of organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple duties.

? Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines.

? Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Excel & Access).
