Administrative Assistant - Government Affairs

The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers ("The Council") is the premier association for commercial insurance and employee benefits brokers in the United States and abroad. Due to recent growth, our busy government affairs team seeks an administrative assistant to start as soon as possible. The Administrative Assistant reports directly to the Senior VP of Government Affairs, provides administrative and clerical support, coordinates meetings and schedules, drafts and edits written correspondence and reports, handles calls and communications, assists with PAC management and administration, represents The Council at various Hill events and receptions, and generally facilitates the work of the VP and the government affairs staff.

 

We are seeking an intelligent, articulate and eager individual with two years experience as an administrative assistant and an interest in government and legislative affairs and/or the insurance industry. Candidate must have strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills, must be organized, detail-oriented and flexible.  Computer skills required include Word and Excel. Database experience helpful. BA/BS strongly preferred.
