Associate Director, State Legislative Affairs

MBA is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Associate Director, State Legislative Affairs to serve as the Group's staff member charged with state and local government affairs issues with responsibility for keeping abreast of state and local legislative and regulatory developments affecting the mortgage banking industry. Primary responsibilities would be preparing written materials that summerize and analyze state legislation, local ordinaces and proposed state and/or local regulations, prepare appropriate communications regarding the impact of state and local legislation, assist the Senior Director, State Legislative Affairs with member outreach activities and maintenance of contracts with industry partners, trade associations, consumer groups and other organizations, and maintain the state affairs section of MBA government affairs department pages on MBA's website.



Undergraduate degree required, post-graduate/masters preferred. Minimum of five years relevent experience in policy research and analysis combined with knowledge of mortgage lending, regulatory and legislative processes, preferably at the state and local level, Excellent written, research, communication, interpersonal, customer service and team orientation skills are also essential.
