BECOME A MEMBER OF THE AUSTRALIAN CONSULATE IN SAN FRANCISCO!

 

There is currently an opening at the Australian Consulate in San Francisco for a Consular Officer.  Under the direction of the Consul-General, this position would understand and provide quality consular services to Australian citizens in accordance with official instructions and procedures. 

 

 

This may include the provision of crisis counselling for distressed Australians, the processing of  new and replacement Australian travel documents and providing quality client service to all telephone, in-person or other inquiries concerning passport and consular issues.

 

The successful candidate would also assist the Consul-General with public diplomacy and the management of high profile events and visits by VIPs.

 

Requirements of the job include a tertiary degree in office or business administration or a related field, experience dealing with Crisis Management, an aptitude for IT-based and technical work processes, excellent inter-personal skills and proven administrative experience.

 

It is necessary to have demonstrated excellence in organisational skills, including time management, and strong communication skills.  Fluency in English, both written and oral is required.  Australian citizenship is preferred.
