County Director/Social Services

The Georgia Department of Human Resources, Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of County Director IV for the Rockdale County.

Rockdale County DFCS is a Class IV county. The ideal candidate will have considerable child welfare experience and proven executive leadership experience with a government agency or comparable experience as a Senior VP, Director, CEO, etc. in a private organization.



Under broad supervision, directs a Class IV County Department of Family and Children Services. Oversees quality and delivery of all public assistance, employability, and social services programs of the agency through an administrator or subordinate program managers. Directs and manages through an administrator the human resources, facility, budget and other related systems within Department. Leads and/or participates in local and statewide projects and community initiatives as requested.


Our ideal candidate will have a Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in social science or public service field and two (2) years of social services experience and at least three years of supervisory experience with DFCS and/or equivalent agency which included supervision of subordinate supervisors of an economic support, employability, child care and/or social services program.
