Communications Division. The resulting eligible list will be used to staff this

Recruitment For : DP TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST SUPERVISOR (06-

4477-902)

Salary:  $47,709 - $76,598 (Grade 19)

Closing Date: June 30, 2006

Position Duties: A DP Technical Support Supervisor is the supervisory level of work

maintaining and modifying operating systems for multi-purpose, multitasking

computers. Employees in this classification supervise DP

Technical Support Specialists.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education - Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in

Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Management

Information Systems or other information technology - related field to

include course work in machine or assembler computer languages, and

operating system and data communication technology for multipurpose,

multi-tasking computers.

Experience - Three years of experience maintaining and modifying

operating systems for multipurpose, multi - tasking computers.

Notes: 1. Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university in

Computer Information Technology, Computer Science, Management

Information Systems or other information technology - related field to

include course work in machine or assembler computer languages, and

operating system and data communication technology for multipurpose,

multi-tasking computers may be substituted for the required education.

2. One additional year of experience maintaining and modifying

operating systems for multipurpose, multi - tasking computers may be

substituted for the required education.

3. Experience operating multipurpose, multi-tasking computer

systems; or scheduling, controlling input and output or maintaining a

tape library to process data on multipurpose, multi-tasking computer

systems; or converting data from project specifications by developing

program code using third generation or other generally accepted

computer programming languages; or designing, developing and

maintaining communications networks may be substituted for high

school on a year ? for - year basis.

Selective Qualifications:

1. Experience working with Z/OS, COBOL, CICS, DB2, IMS,

and Web Sphere MQ for Z/OS.

2. Experience planning, coordinating, and managing work

relating to the mainframe?s technical support section.

3. Experience working on departmental budgets, procurement,

and employee evaluations.

Special Requirements:

Employees in this classification my be subject to call 24 hours a day and,

therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a

telephone number where the employee can be reached or will be

furnished with a pager.

Selection Process:

The examination may consist of a rating of your education, training, and

experience related to the requirements of the job. If you do not receive a request

for supplemental information, the rating may be based on your application. It is

important that you provide complete and accurate information on your

application. Successful candidates will be placed on the employment eligibility list

categorized as BEST QUALIFIED, BETTER QUALIFIED, or QUALIFIED. The

list will be valid for at least one year and may be extended. The list will be used by

the hiring agency to select employees.
