Plans Examiner (Mechanical) $54,673 - $75,368.

This is technical work in the examination of residential, multi-unit structures,light commercial and industrial construction plans for compliance with Florida Building Code and other applicable codes and regulations. Req's:  To be eligible for appointment as a Mechanical Plans Examiner, such person shall be certified as required by the Building Code administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) as a (mechanical) Plans Examiner under Section 104.11.3 of the Florida Building Code. Exception: Florida Registered Architects or Florida Registered Engineers are exempt from BCAIB certification only. Such person shall be certified by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals and shall meet one or more of the qualifications of: Sec. 04.11.3.1.or Sec. 104.11.3.2. or Sec. 104.11.3.3. or Sec.104.11.3.4. Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Building Inspector (Structural) $47,145-$64,990

This is technical work involving the structural inspection of new and existing buildings to determine compliance with building codes. Req's: H.S. or GED diploma. To be eligible for appointment as a Building Inspector, such person shall possess an active license as a Standard Inspector (Structural) issued by the Florida State Building Code and inspectors Board (BCAI) and shall also meet the requirements for certification by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals pursuant to Section 103.53 of the Florida Building Code. Valid driver's license with good driving record.
Plans Examiner (Structural) $54,673 - $75,368.

This is technical work in the examination of residential, multi-unit structures,light commercial and industrial construction plans for compliance with Florida Building Code and other applicable codes and regulations. Req's: An applicant for Certification as a Chief Structural Inspector or Structural Plans Examiner under the provisions of  section 103.4.3.4 of the Florida Building Code who is a graduate from an accredited school holding a Bachelor or Associate of Science degree in Engineering, Architecture or Building Construction maybe credited for three (3) years for Bachelor Degree or one (1) year for an Associate Degree of the required ten-year experience for the Structural discipline as listed below. In addition to the education credit, an applicant who is certified as required by the State of Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board (BCAIB) as a (Structural) Plans Examiner may be credited for two (2) years of the ten (10) years in section 103.4.3.2 and one year of the five (5) years as specified in section 103.4.3.3. Such credit shall not reduce the two (2) year experience requirement as a Structural Inspector to be certified as a Chief Structural Inspector or Structural Plans Examiner.
