Policy Research Project Coordinator, Public Advocacy

The American Heart Association?s Office of Advocacy in Washington, D.C., educates members of Congress, federal agencies and other health organizations about the Association?s views and positions on public health issues, including biomedical research, access to healthcare, disease prevention programs and tobacco control efforts. 

 

Based in Washington, D.C. Will provide project management, administrative, database and policy research support to the policy research team. This includes scheduling, meeting, calendar and phone support, budget and contract management, preparation of correspondence and other materials. Will also maintain policy research extranet sites and select sections of the intranet and Internet sites. Will develop and maintain databases (primarily in Access), extract data from public databases and generate reports, charts, and fact sheets using Excel, Word and Access. Will also respond to internal and external requests for information and data.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor?s degree, demonstrated proficiency/experience in use of Access, PowerPoint, and Excel (proficiency assessment will be given); ability to conduct database and Internet searches. Must have excellent oral and written communication?s skills as well as excellent proofreading, attention to detail and organizational skills. Experience in utilizing web technology and maintaining/updating web pages is a plus.
