***Regulations Accountant***

Excellent opportunity for an Regulations Accountant with a reputable association head-quartered in Washington, DC. This accountant will provide specialized accounting and auditing policy services. He/She will also provide technical services with respect to accounting rules and proposed standards to various regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities:
- Provide technical accounting and auditing analysis on current accounting proposals.
- Participate in developing and drafting positions on accounting proposals.
- Prompt and courteous responses to telephone inquiries, analysis and explanation of accounting proposals.
- Assist in coordinating Accounting Committee meeting materials including agenda and notebook, and draft summaries of accounting and auditing developments for committee.
- Monitor numerous accounting issues and changes in rules that impact the financial services industry.
- Continuously think of ways to communicate the message to members.
- Assist with communication and contact with members of various regulatory agencies.
- Prepare and/or draft lobbying documents such as comment letters, proposal summaries, educational papers, and communication publications.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
- 2-3 years of related work experience to include understanding of financial statements
- Experience in simplifying and summarizing issues and good customer service skills
- Strong customer service skills, high integrity, and the ability to work as a team player
- Ability to research, analyze and summarize complex accounting issues in simple manner
- Good communication and writing skills
- Energetic, self-motivated and willingness to take initiative
