Regulatory Affairs Specialist

 

We are seeking candidates responsible for supporting the development and administration of STERIS?s regulatory policy positions across product lines of the consumable businesses. This role will seek to establish and manage relationships with key governmental agencies (i.e. EPA, etc.), trade associations and industry consortia for the purposes of advocating STERIS's business objectives and strategies. Also develops related strategies and tactics to manage policy issues subject to agency oversight which affects STERIS's business. Provides interface to internal stakeholder teams and councils for the purpose of planning, developing and coordinating corporate positions and strategies related to telecommunications and regulatory policy.  Responsible for keeping abreast of and providing regular reporting to key business leaders on key regulatory developments that impact customers, or STERIS?s business. 

 A bachelor?s degree in Business with a minimum of 1-3 years of previous government relations and regulatory experience is required.  Federal agency and/or legislative experience is required.  Must  have the ability to build relationships and influence decision makers as well as being able to interact effectively and credibly at senior levels. Comprehension of industry developments and changes in the political environment.  Extensive network-building and contact experience is required.  Demonstrated excellence in the following: communications, listening and interpersonal skills, cross business unit coordination, planning, research, diplomacy, advocacy and sales skills.  Ability to operate in a business driven model providing quick, salient analysis and concrete action plans emphasis on understanding and anticipating business needs and interests and devising proactive approaches/responses.  Interest in technology.
