Associate Director, Supply Chain Management

MaineHealth is seeking a candidate who will have operational
responsibilities directly or through others to organize, staff, direct, and
control movement, storage, and distribution of all hospital goods, services,
and equipment. Including warehouse services, receiving, mailroom and copy center.

Also, operational responsibilities for all function of acquisition and contracting for supplies, pharmaceuticals, equipment and other related
services. (125 million dollar spend per year). This position requires
detailed and sophisticated financial analysis and oversight.

Direct and indirect operational responsibility for personnel performing
supply chain functions at Maine Medical Center. (64 FTE)

Reports directly to the Director of Supply Chain Management for MaineHealth. In the absence of the Director, the Assistant Director must be able to assume those responsibilities necessary to maintain day-to-day operations of the Division. Performs special projects assigned by the Director.

Collaborates with MaineHealth Supply Chain staff to ensure standardization
of products/contracts within MaineHealth/ Maine Med

Knowledge of supply chain management including purchasing, inventory,
distribution, accounting, purchasing law, finance and budgeting functions at
a level normally acquired through completion of a Masters Degree and (5)
five years of relevant experience or Bachelors Degree with (10) ten years of
relevant experience. Increasing levels of significant and complex management experience in Materials Management. Interpersonal communication skills associated with managing a complex organization, as well as skills to effectively influence, negotiate, resolve problems and make strategic and tactical decisions with senior managers, nursing and department directors, physicians and vendors. Analytical and critical thinking skills necessary to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives recommend changes and implement business processes.
